This is intentional, and was done to condense gameplay and avoid long matches in which players spend inordinate amounts of time just trying to bring the enemy into engagement range. ![]() Ships are roughly twice as large than they should be put another way, each map is twice as small as it should be. It's worth noting that maps are not to scale with the ships. Map sizes vary from 24x24 km to 48x48 km. Most maps are restricted to certain tiers of ships, largely due to the speed and firing range of the ships that will play on it. It saddens me that they've already nerfed Hosho's torpedoes (used to be two per attack drop, now only one per drop, since they nerfed the Hosho's drop several months ago), and might nerf other CV's aerial torpedoes, merely because CV players are getting "gud" and non-CV players are crying and whining about the situation better than they play. Each map in World of Warships is designed to be unique and interesting while promoting fun and engaging gameplay. The German CV, Manfred Von Richthofen, was least affected (but still affected) by the changes.Īs a side-effect of the AP bomb and rocket ordnance changes, I've been working to get better at using torpedoes. US Navy CV's, and the Pan-Asian Sanzang, which use Tiny Tim rockets were most severely affected. The new rocket-plane mechanics, currently in-use on the Public Test Server, have put a "delay" and a "machine-guns firing scene" in the rocket-plane attack animation sequence. The Hakuryu, because it uses AP bombs, got nerfed by the Global AP bomb nerf (as were all CV's which use AP bombs). Hakuryu and Midway have been solid performers for many months, since the CV Re-work. ![]() My current new favorite Tier-10 CV is the Manfred Von Richthofen, on the Public Test Server, at least. On the Public Test Server, I've played all the tech-tree Tier-10 CV's. Also what do you think is the best carrier line in general?
